Newborn photography with baby in hat on bed

The best time frame to photograph a newborn is in the first two weeks of life. There are many reasons for this, but one of the reasons is that when babies are first born, they tend to sleep a lot and are very calm, which makes it easier to get them into cute and squishy poses. Once they get past the two week mark, they generally start kicking their legs more and wiggling their way out of poses. If you are interested in the sleepy baby poses, I would recommend getting photos taken as soon as you feel up to it (I know how hard that can be as a new mom)! If you want to wait until later, that is no problem either! Lifestyle newborn photos are also beautiful and take on a more candid approach. This also works great, so there are ways to photograph every age!
